During my ECITB Mechanical Fitter Scholarship, I developed a wide range of practical skills essential for a successful career in mechanical engineering. This program provided a deep dive into both the technical and hands-on aspects of mechanical fitting, with a strong focus on safety and precision.Key highlights of my training included:* Mastering hand skills required for mechanical fitting, including the use of tools for precise measurements and assembly.* Completing electrical training, equipping me with the knowledge to understand electrical systems within mechanical installations.*Earning my CSCS card, allowing me to work safely on construction sites and in industrial environments.*Designing a mechanical rig from concept to completion, developing my understanding of mechanical systems and project planning.* Gaining proficiency in operating lathes and drills, essential for machining and manufacturing components to tight tolerances.*Conducting pipe and flange assessments, ensuring the integrity and reliability of mechanical joints and systems.This scholarship not only enhanced my technical capabilities but also laid the foundation for my approach to safety, precision, and problem-solving in mechanical engineering.
