Provide comprehensive oversight and leadership of commercial and other contractual agreements with domestic and international entities based on the interpretation and application of complex contract language, laws, and institutional policies • Exercise independent initiative to continuously develop, evaluate and enhance contracting policies and processes, conduct training as needed, and supervise staff • Advise and support School leaders and faculty on a variety of matters including the interpretation of laws and University and School policies, HR-related matters such as disciplinary issues, grievances, disputes, etc, contractual business relationship matters, risk matters, and general legal matters • Conduct investigations regarding a wide range of issues including sexual harassment and develop and implement practical measures and draft written policies to resolve problems and as needed, collaborate with leaders throughout the University in resolving issues • Manage the Office of Industry Relations by shouldering primary responsibility for (1) the review of faculty and staff proposed contracts with industry;(2) the drafting and revising of SOM policies related to both industry relations matters and non-industry related faculty matters; and (3) SOM institutional relationships with entities within the healthcare industry
