ABOUT ZAINAB ASUNRAMU
With over a decade dedicated to human rights, politics and political engagement, my journey has led me to a senior advocacy and policy role, where I apply my expertise in parliamentary processes and advocacy to shape policies that advance gender equality. At the heart of my role as a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer lies a steadfast commitment to progressing feminist policies with a deep commitment to advancing the rights of people in under-represented communities. I have strong stakeholder relations skills which ensures that political/parliamentary advocacy strategies I produce, are people-centered, rights-respecting and inclusive. I am passionate about politics, democracy and encouraging the political participation of all, specifically those in under-represented communities. In parallel, as a Councillor for Thamesmead East, I am deeply immersed in the community, leveraging my research acumen and political analysis to address local constituents\' concerns effectively. I am also partially responsible for scrutinising the work of the administration to make sure projects, policies and legislation meet the needs of all of Bexley’s residents. This dual capacity enables me to foster robust community relations while influencing critical local policy decisions. As Deputy Leader of Bexley Labour I aim to uphold and advocate for the fundamental rights and well-being of the community we serve.
