About Zaina Adamu

Zaina Adamu is the Deputy Communications Director for the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. Before working in Congress, she was a journalist at CNN, where she covered the 2012 and 2016 U.S. presidential elections. In 2018, she founded Ghana Girl Rising, a nonprofit organization aimed at improving education access for young women in low-income communities. She is the author of Words: A Guide to Finding Calm in a Cluttered World. She currently serves as president of Harvard Alumni for Global Development and is on the advisory council of G-100, a group of 100 women leaders from across the world. She is a proud alumna of Morgan State University and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
