ABOUT ZAHRA AZEEM

I am a UK-trained Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a specialist interest in benign gynaecology, minimal access surgery, ambulatory gynaecology, gynaecological ultrasound, and endometriosis. I have trained and worked across several NHS trusts, including University Hospitals Birmingham and Worcester Acute NHS Trust, within busy obstetric and complex gynaecology services.My clinical practice focuses on careful assessment, multidisciplinary working, and evidence-based surgery, particularly for women with endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and adolescent gynaecological conditions. I have completed advanced training in laparoscopic surgery for benign disease, hysteroscopy, and gynaecological ultrasound, alongside a fellowship in minimal access gynaecological surgery.I currently serve as the Senior Trainee Representative on the Council of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and am a member of the BSGE Diagnostic Subcommittee, contributing to national work in training, diagnostics, and service improvement.Alongside clinical work, I am involved in research, audit, and quality improvement, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and regular presentations at national and international meetings. I am particularly interested in improving care pathways for endometriosis and pelvic pain, and in developing sustainable, high-quality surgical training.I value collaborative leadership, education, and continuous improvement, and I am motivated by building services that deliver safe, compassionate, and effective care for women.
