About Zack Campbell

I’m a left-wing strategist, labor leader, and institutional builder focused on one core problem: how movements translate values into durable governing power.Over the last decade, I’ve worked across nearly every layer of progressive infrastructure—organizing, communications, fundraising, governance, labor relations, and political operations. That range is not incidental. I believe power is built when strategy, narrative, systems, and people are aligned, and I’ve built my career working across org charts to make that alignment real.I currently serve as Director of Institutional Giving at the national Working Families Party and Working Families Power, where I lead organization-wide institutional fundraising strategy, funder narrative development, and grant systems across 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), PAC, party, and independent expenditure structures. My work has helped raise tens of millions of dollars and resource hundreds of electoral, legislative, and issue-based campaigns at every level of government. My practice sits at the intersection of: Complex, multi-entity development strategy Political messaging and narrative coherence Compliance, governance, and operational design Campaign leadership and cross-functional team building Research, political education, and strategic analysis Staff mentorship and leadership pipelines Labor-management relations grounded in shared valuesAlongside my staff leadership, I am a union organizer and negotiator. I helped unionize the Working Families Party, served as Chief Steward of Workers United Local and led multiple contract campaigns—winning a first-in-the-nation pension for political party staff, sabbaticals, best-in-class healthcare, and equitable pay structures. I continue to support organizing, bargaining, and labor relations across the progressive sector.Whether I’m shaping a major institutional proposal, designing political strategy, or bargaining a fair contract, my orientation is the same: build capacity, build power, and make it resilient enough to last.
