I am a litigator. I represent employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Durham Human Relations Commission, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Human Relations Commission, the Department of Labor (DOL), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) at the federal and state level. I also defend employers and municipalities against lawsuits related to Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Retaliatory Employment Discrimination Act (REDA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal and state employment laws. I actively lead and participate in litigation efforts every single day on behalf of employers and businesses. I am a counselor. Because of my experience in the courtroom, I know how to advise clients on the best practices to stay out of them. I have drafted, reviewed, and negotiated employment agreements for businesses, including nondisclosure and noncompete clauses, and advised on employment best practices as well. I regularly counsel clients on employment policies in the workplace and how to navigate multi-state regulation across the United States.
