ABOUT ZACHARY M. H.
Technology should elevate—not complicate—care. With over 23 years in healthcare IT, including the past 8 as CIO, the focus has always been on building systems, teams, and strategies that quietly power the work of care delivery—especially in rural and community-based settings.Blending innovation with security, compliance, and stability, this work connects long-term vision to practical execution. From modernizing infrastructure and strengthening cybersecurity to aligning IT investments with clinical and financial priorities, every initiative is designed to remove friction and deliver measurable impact.Recognized for cultivating service-first teams, leading with clarity, and bridging the gap between technical and clinical environments. Grounded in lean principles and strong governance, with a belief that the best IT organizations are measured not by the systems they run—but by the care they help enable.Current focus includes expanding data infrastructure, elevating cybersecurity maturity, and designing a future-ready IT environment to support population health and value-based care. Actively engaged in statewide health IT initiatives, peer collaborations, and advisory work, helping shape solutions to shared challenges across rural healthcare.Believes that technology is only as strong as the people behind it. Strong emphasis on building trust, supporting professional growth, and fostering a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement. At the core: a belief that healthcare IT should be a quiet force multiplier—removing barriers, empowering people, and creating space for meaningful care to happen.
