ABOUT ZACH GRIFFIN

I love learning about different businesses. Particularly the obscure businesses most people don’t even know or care about. Frozen croissants…incinerating garbage…mining rare earth metals…quilting machines… yes, those are just a few of the businesses I have found myself wildly interested in over time and, in certain instances, representing companies engaged in those businesses. I’m often asked, “why?” and find it hard to explain. It’s kind of like asking someone “why do you like chocolate ice cream?” It’s the same thing with me and learning about businesses…I just enjoy it. I like learning about their story (founding to present day), how they make money, what sets them apart, risks they face - all of it. Ever since my first job delivering newspapers (and seeing how that business worked), my interest in businesses is a common thread in my story. It guided my decision to major in finance in undergrad, study corporate law in law school, and start my career at Jones Day helping private equity firms buy and sell different businesses. Wanting to get more involved in business dealings, I eventually became an in-house attorney for a fast-moving technology company, which was an amazing experience. My role allowed me to go deep into all aspects of the company\'s business and legal matters, which was immensely gratifying. Eventually though, I got the itch to start my own business, and GTX Legal was born. At GTX Legal, we help private equity firms and growth-oriented companies optimize their vendor agreements and NDAs, saving them time and money. I have the unique benefit of learning about our clients\' businesses while running my own. I thoroughly enjoy taking our client\'s contracts to the next level and showing them how it improves their businesses. I wish I could say this was all part of some grand plan I had 20 years ago, but it wasn’t. Only through hindsight do I see the common threads, but I couldn’t be happier how things have turned out. My business and family are growing (my wife and I have three sons), so I’m excited to see where things go from here.
