ABOUT ZACHARY FONAAS

With over five years of experience in sales, customer service, and account management, I bring a high level of professionalism and optimistic energy to an organization. In my current role as a Sales Manager at Choose Chicago, I handle the East Coast market (10 - 299 rooms on peak) to bring meetings and events to the City of Chicago for the economic benefit of our community and partners. Previously, I lead the Sales Support team to create, update and enact processes to increase efficiency amongst sellers and our hotel/venue partners. On top of this, I spearhead projects from the Executive team to bring exceptional experiences to our clients and industry partners. Prior to my career at Choose Chicago, I was an Account Manager in the real estate industry handling the entire lifecycle of rental units for property owners. While this role was outside of my current career field, it gave me unmatched experience in customer service and allowed me to take a professional risk. This further solidified my true passion of working in the hospitality field, which is where I began my career originally in Group Sales at Apple Leisure Group. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Tourism Management from Arizona State University. Outside of my career, you can find me exploring the beautiful city of Chicago, attending a variety of artistic events, playing volleyball and relaxing at the beach.
