About Zachary Wilson
After pursuing my Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, I began my career in the Oil and Gas industry with Oceaneering working in various business units during my tenure. I gained a breadth of experience designing and manufacturing subsea umbilicals, ROV tooling, subsea junction plates, umbilical termination assemblies and hydraulic flying leads. I am now working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at SOFEC, Inc. designing and testing toroidal fluid swivel systems for single point mooring (SPM) applications. I\'m also involved in research and development efforts testing the performance of various spring energized seals used in SOFEC\'s fluid swivel systems. Our seal testing applies the principles of tribology, mechanical behavior of materials, and experimental methods to optimize seal performance and longevity. By combining my research and oil and gas experience, my goal is to make an impact on my colleagues and engineering challenges presented to me. My dream is to become an industry leader that innovates technology for the better of society.
