ABOUT ZACHARY LENERT

As the Vice President of Integrated Care Management at Sharp HealthCare, the largest health system in San Diego County, Zachary leverages his years of experience in healthcare management to spearhead the strategic planning and integration of care management strategies across the enterprise, with a focus on acute care operations. He oversees Inpatient and Emergency Department Care Management programs, Enterprise Utilization Management, Physician Advisory, Social Services, and Clinical Denials for the system’s four acute care hospitals and Women & Children’s specialty hospital; ensuring financial growth, operational effectiveness, and quality care for the patients and communities they serve.Zachary is an accomplished leader and educator, holding multiple certifications, including Nurse Executive Advanced, Accredited Case Manager, Certified Emergency Nurse, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. He is an expert in value-based care, nursing, capacity management, and clinical denials prevention, and Utilization/Care Management. Skilled at leveraging analytics, collaborative teams, and result-oriented solutions to drive performance and innovation. He is also an instructor at UC San Diego Extended Studies, where he teaches hospital transition planning to aspiring case managers.
