ABOUT ZACHARY LASKER
When I was growing up I benefitted from a range of community organizations and role models who ignited my passions and sense of self. I learned that it takes a village to raise a child and that the village must persist into the stages of adulthood. As a non-profit leader, I am devoted to “pay it forward” so others are embraced by communities and grow to lead purposeful, outward facing lives.I bring a demonstrated history in social impact. Here is what inspires me to action:1) Curiosity - I love getting to know the stories, customs, and values at the heart of the communities and people I serve. This trait motivated me to get a doctorate so that I could learn how to ask questions, hear answers, and discover solutions. 2) People - Positive relationships with others are key and I help create culture where people feel seen, heard, and respected. In each chapter of my career I\'ve supervised staff, implemented strategies of assessment and recognition, partnered with lay leaders, and coordinated trainings around diversity, equity, and inclusion.3) Strategic Action - I enjoy dreamstorming around vision and then identifying tactics to actualize it. We might fall down and scrape our knees but we\'ll rebound up. I\'ve led strategic plans at a university and camps.4) Systems - Yes! I need a certain amount of order and believe in role clarity, efficiencies, and not being wasteful. In each of my jobs I\'ve managed budgets, overseen elements of operations, stewarded assessment, and more.5) Resource Development - Strong vision is effective when accompanied by resources in talent and funding. I bring experience in hiring employees, recruiting volunteers, securing grants, and raising money. 6) Health & Wellness - I learned the value of claiming \"me time\" early in my career. I take my own health and wellness seriously as a runner and yogi and support others in claiming space for this priority.
