ABOUT ZACHARY HAINES

As a not-for-profit technology executive, I believe strongly that it\'s my job to leverage technology to help us accomplish our mission—because giving back to the community is a core value for me.I\'m a systems thinker—and I\'m passionate about understanding every nook and cranny of the organization to ensure that IT is always fully aligned and supporting our short- and long-term goals. I enjoy thinking on 3-5 year horizons and executing strategies that deeply transform the organization. I value transparency. I work closely with my executive peers and stakeholders to clearly and effectively communicate the real value that technology can bring both today, tomorrow, and years down the line. This commitment to open communication has enabled me to transform adversaries into advocates, drive alignment, and ensure that technology is seen as a true enabler—and not as a cost center. My belief in transparency has also enabled me to drive clear, organization-wide governance processes and policies—streamlining the technology development and deployment process and increasing customer satisfaction. I also recognize that technology is not always the answer—or the problem. The issue may be process, for example—and throwing tech in will not deliver ROI. I focus on the problem to determine the optimal solution.
