SKILLS
ABOUT ZACH CANFIELD
I lead the design, execution, and commissioning of complex water and wastewater treatment systems for large-scale industrial process and aquaculture facilities.I have over 10 years of experience across process design, technology development, procurement support, construction interfaces, and operations, with work spanning aquaculture (RAS), microelectronics, food and beverage, power, mining, among others. In my current role as Principal Engineer for a global aquaculture developer, I hold technical ownership of advanced water treatment systems from early design through commissioning and operational handover. My work focuses on systems where complexity is inherent and performance is non-negotiable with technologies including DAF, MBBR and MBR, biological treatment, high-rate clarification, ozone/AOP, RO, NF, UF, ZLD, and sludge dewatering/drying systems. I am routinely responsible for vendor technical alignment, performance guarantees, process integration, and resolving scope gaps between design intent, procurement and site execution.I have led multidisciplinary teams across Asia, Europe, and the Americas on capital-intensive projects where schedule, reliability, and operability drive decisions. My approach combines rigorous process engineering with practical judgment around constructability, risk and life-cycle performance.I am published in both academic and applied water industry forums. I work effectively across both structured programs and rapidly evolving project environments with a focus on technical ownership and building systems that perform effectively in the field.
