After more than 10 years studying Chinese harp and dance, I now put that same dedication towards working as the Assistant Vice President of Research Data Services at LIMRA. I am passionate about analytics, because I am curious about the world we live in, and conducting appropriate analyses gives me the opportunity to solve problems that affect others. I strive to learn and grow in my job every day. My job allows me to use my critical thinking abilities to achieve results. Data issues are so common, and different problems arise daily.    Lead a dynamic team of 6 professionals. Responsibilities include comprehensive project oversight, active involvement in career planning, and performance appraisals for team members. This team plays a pivotal role in supporting the partnership between the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and LIMRA for industry experience studies within the life and annuity sector.• Direct and oversee the team’s efforts in the preparation of industry experience study data and the creation of data-driven deliverables. This includes creating streamlined procedures for data processing and interactive Tableau dashboards designed for various studies, such as payout annuity mortality study, variable annuity and fixed indexed annuity utilization study, Canadian segregated funds policyholder behavior study, and universal life premium persistency study.• Perform data-related tasks myself, conducting data analysis, actuarial calculations, and data visualization using a diverse range of tools, including SAS, R, SQL and Tableau. Spearhead the development of modernized solutions for LIMRA’s legacy systems.• Serve as primary project manager, communicating and coordinating tasks and resource allocation across the SOA and LIMRA. Serve as a vital bridge between IT, business stakeholders, and data analysts in steering analytical projects, ensuring seamless workflow and timely execution of projects. Serve as the liaison between LIMRA and client companies, facilitating productive discussions on data-related issues and presenting the results of analyses to achieve mutual objectives.
