About Ywanarai Alexander
With over 15 years of experience spanning nuclear naval shipbuilding, power generation, heavy civil infrastructure, pipeline, and international construction, I bring a rare combination of hands-on technical expertise and senior quality leadership to every project I touch. My career began in the shipyard, where I welded nuclear aircraft carriers, submarines, and Littoral Combat Ships…environments where zero defects aren’t a goal, they’re a requirement. That foundation shaped everything that followed. As an AWS Certified Welding Inspector with 12 years of active certification, I’ve built and led quality programs across some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the country. I’ve inspected the Holland Tunnel rehabilitation, the new LaGuardia Airport Terminal B, and the Kosciuszko Bridge replacement. I’ve performed third-party inspections for Con Edison and National Grid pipeline infrastructure. I’ve managed HRSG new construction from the ground up through Authorized Inspector signoff, and performed quality oversight on fossil, gas, surge chamber and hydro power generation facilities.Internationally, I served as Owner’s Representative for a major construction project in Thailand. I lived there for two years, overseeing prefabricated component quality across the full supply chain, and holding final sign-off authority before installation. That experience gave me a deep understanding of international fabrication standards, cross-cultural project management, and how to protect an owner’s interests when you’re the last line of defense. For the past three years I’ve served as Regional Quality Manager, leading a team of multiple inspectors across multi-discipline scopes including structural steel, pressure vessels, concrete, bolting, electrical and civil infrastructure. I build quality systems, not just inspection programs from ITPs and NCR processes to team development and client-facing quality reporting. My background covers ASME Section I and Section AWS D1.1/AWS D1.8, AWS D1.5, API 1104, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.1 and B31.8, NQA-1 quality environments, and owner-level quality oversight on projects where failure is not an option.I’m currently pursuing additional certifications including API 510, API 570, and ICC Special Inspector credentials to complement my existing qualifications and expand my market reach.Open to senior quality leadership opportunities in infrastructure, energy, defense, international construction, and mission critical facilities.
