ABOUT YVONNE TIRAKIAN
As a nonprofit legal aid attorney, my practice covers a variety of housing litigation areas. I specialize in cases involving the rights of federally subsidized housing tenants as well as homeownership issues involving land contracts and predatory installment contracts. I have experience working independently at all stages of litigation including pretrial motions, discovery, settlement negotiations, trial, and post judgment motions. I serve on the executive board of the National Organization of Legal Services Workers (NOLSW), UAW Local 2320 for Lakeshore Legal Aid’s bargaining unit. As a union steward and labor organizer, I advocate for the rights of my colleagues across the 12+ offices at Lakeshore Legal Aid. I am dedicated to furthering social, economic, and environmental justice and breaking down the barriers for individuals who need access to that justice.
