I am a partner with Pearlman, Brown & Wax, LLP specializing in the defense of workers\' compensation claims. I am an experienced trial attorney and has successfully litigated complex issues before the Workers\' Compensation Appeals Board.I graduated from the University of California at Irvine in 1991 and graduated with both a Bachelor of Arts and Letters degree in Political Science (major) and Criminal Justice (minor). I obtained my Juris Doctorate degree from the University of La Verne College of Law.I previously worked as a workers\' compensation claims specialist obtaining her self-insurance certificate, WCCP designation and my CPDM. I worked as a fraud investigator and assisted the National Insurance Crime Bureau and the Los Angeles and Ventura County District Attorneys\' offices with the successful prosecution of doctors in the \"What\'s Up Doc?\" sting, as well as the Sycamore Pharmacy prosecution.I was also an active member of the California Workers\' Compensation Institute\'s Utilization Review Committee and worked for the implementation of the California Code of Regulations 9792.6(g), Utilization Management and Review. I lecture on topics of interest to insurance companies, third party administrators and employers.I am a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the former California Workers\' Compensation Defense Attorneys\' Association serving as President of the organization in 2013. I am also a member of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and the Central Coast Chapter of I was the 20••••16 Chair of the State Bar Workers’ Compensation Section Executive Committee and most recently honored with being named Defense Attorney of the year by the California Lawyers Association (CLA) in 2023.Besides spending time with my wonderful husband, Greg & my two Australian Labradoodles Alera & Bailey; I enjoy spending time in her art studio painting in acrylic and water colors, working with ceramics and generally being creative. And occasionally I Zumba!
