About Yvette Cuenco
Yvette is an experienced social worker and school leader with 18 years experience supporting the wellbeing and wellness of individuals, families, and school communities. Yvette is a second generation Filipino American, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University in 2006 and has committed to a lifetime of service as a social worker and school counselor. Yvette started off her therapy/counseling career in Brooklyn, NY at one of New York City\'s major mental health non-profit agencies. There, she worked for 5 years in children’s day treatment programs where she received on-the-ground experience providing school-based therapeutic services to students with mental health and learning needs. In 2011, she decided to take her experience worldwide to an international school in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This sparked a 10 year global journey from Uzbekistan to Thailand, China, and the UAE. The experience of working in different countries coupled with her work in Brooklyn fueled Yvette\'s passion for working with clients from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Yvette returned to the US in 2021 and serves as a school leader and school counselor supporting her school community\'s wellbeing through an equity and social justice lens.
