At Narratives for Change, LLC, Yvette is a poet and storytelling facilitator. She works with women and girls to use storytelling to heal, to create art, for consciousness-raising, and for advocacy. Her passion is to cultivate, expand, and preserve the stories of women, particularly BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color.) She balances her practice between art-making, teaching, and supporting the growing needs of community groups, socially-engaged organizations and their leaders. Projects include:Developing new art: poetry, essays, articles and music Design and facilitate writing workshops using a positive strengths-based model to develop voice and craft for adult writers and youthCurate literary arts events and community-based storytelling on topics that grapple with racism, misogyny, homophobia, diversity and inclusion, equity, empathy, peace building, and belongingTeach autoethnography and scholarly personal narrative with graduate students, professionals, and practitioners in applied behavioral scienceDevelop leadership skills with women-led teams through a narrative and storytelling framework. Introduce mindfulness-based practices in all areas of her work-Yvette is a proven Change Strategist in leading organization transformation. Her work and accomplishments are featured in several business books, articles, and in a Harvard Business case. Yvette and her husband are practitioners and facilitators for the Mindfulness Community of Atlantic Beach Florida.
