Container Instance service provides a serverless experience for customer to launch containers in their dedicated container instance (container virtual machine) without the effort of managing their own VMs.• Designed and implemented the fractional core container VM feature, enabling customers to reduce waste and costs. Designed and implemented a new cgroupV2 cpuset management mechanism, changing from container VMs sharing a set of CPUs to each container VMs having dedicated cpuset.• Created an imaging tool (set of mvn plugins) with Java and Dagger to build the hypervisor image and hypervisor updater. Leveraging the imaging tool, brought up the check-in gate for several core services.• Designed and implemented hypervisor updater to upgrade the existing hypervisor (wrapped into executable jar file). Hypervisor updater not only upgrades the core virtualization management services, but also makes sure hypervisors meet the compliance requirements and resolve security vulnerabilities.• Built the dataplane api server by maintaining long running WebSocket connections to containers in container virtual machine to allow customer interactively executing remote command on the containers.• Used Terraform to automate the hypervisor deployment, resources (policies, VCN, DNS, etc) management, canary tests/alarms management. Achieving the touchless region build of CIDP.• Built the automated integration test pipeline of hypervisor image. It included: 1. Alpha test running against emulated hypervisors, which is triggered by a test-agent https service (built with Dropwizard and Dagger) running on a bare metal host. Beta test against real hypervisors, trigger by Terraform.
