ABOUT YUZE ZHU

Hi, this is Yuze Zhu. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Dalian Maritime University in 2018 and earned a master’s in Engineering Project Management from the University of Leeds in 2020. Now I am pursuing a Master of Management & Professional Accounting (MMPA) at the University of Toronto, with plans to write the CFE in 2025 to obtain my CPA designation. As an engineering graduate, I developed a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, ranking 2nd in project management during my master’s. My passion for numbers and logic has been consistent, having ranked in the top 3 in mathematics throughout high school. Shortly after graduation, I expanded my business and leadership skills through roles in marketing, logistics, FMCG, and commercial real estate industries. These experiences strengthened my P&L analysis, data-driven decision-making, and communication skills, while improving my proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and sales strategies. My transition into finance and accounting was influenced by the dynamic financial environment in Shanghai, where I developed a deep interest in financial reporting, taxation, and investment analysis. I believe numbers have always been my language. From engineering to accounting and financing, I trust I have built a career on solving complex problems, optimizing processes, and showing financial insights that drive business decisions. Motivated to pursue a professional career in accounting, I joined the MMPA program to bridge my knowledge gap and gain hands-on experience in finance and accounting. In 2024, at Sawaya CPA, I handled tax filings for 100+ clients, reconciled financial statements, and ensured CRA compliance, streamlining financial reporting processes. Currently, I am a Corporate Analyst (Co-op) at CAPREIT, where I support financial reporting, mortgage forecasting, and compliance for apartment properties, ensuring regulatory alignment and optimizing investment decisions. I am now actively seeking full-time opportunities in accounting, audit, or financial analysis, where I can apply my technical expertise and strategic skills. I am excited to grow as a senior accounting professional and contribute to the finance and accounting industry.
