YNF (Youth National Football) is a Bristol-based football community I started at 17, aiming to create a safe, positive space for local youth and address the city’s rising violence. With over members and 120 young people aged 15-19 attending weekly, YNF offers five sessions across the city, giving structured, supportive activities that steer youth away from knife crime, gang involvement, and antisocial behaviors. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), YNF receives government support, allowing us to hire a cameraman, editors, and a social media manager to share our journey and connect with a growing community. Through our online platforms and monthly events, we build a strong sense of belonging, encourage self-discipline, and provide opportunities for personal growth. Leading YNF has also become a valuable learning experience for me, strengthening my organizational and leadership skills while contributing to a positive impact on Bristol’s youth.
