ABOUT YUSUF LEE
Hi, I’m Yusuf, a junior studying Industrial & Systems Engineering at Rutgers. These past two years have been defined by the pursuit of my intellectual curiosities. Shaped by mentors (and many side projects), I’ve found a passion for technology and business- particularly machine learning, fintech, and entrepreneurship.The summer of ‘24, I interned at Bechtel working on procurement for a nuclear reactor megaproject (Natrium) where I was exposed to engineering and project finances in the scale of hundreds of millions of dollars. The summer of ‘25, I interned in Technical Product Management at Verizon. Diving into tech product development, from ideation → prototyping → testing → distribution, was invaluable.At Rutgers, I challenge myself as a leader to create opportunities for students and underrepresented communities. My proudest achievements include serving over 250 students as President of Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, leading the organization of the Shadow Program with the Society of Hispanic Engineers for 60 underserved high school students, and bringing entrepreneurial opportunities to engineers as SOE Ambassador for the Road to Silicon Valley Program.My hobbies include working out, rock climbing, and reading too many books at once.
