ABOUT YUSRA ALTAF

Did you know Newton and I have something in common? We both can\'t shut up about apples. In specific this one apple I had in middle school. Technically, it belonged to my classmate, and I can recall the moment exactly - it was right in the middle of lunch time, she pulled out the shiniest, most magnificent maroon apple I had ever laid eyes on. I can still picture it. There was not a scratch, bump or flaw on it\'s perfectly pore-less peel. I remember the sound of the most luxurious bite I\'ve ever heard, one that set the whole chatty classroom into a moment of absolute awe-filled silence. My classmate knew, in that moment, this was a luxury she couldn\'t possibly keep to herself. That apple made rounds to some 19 students in the classroom, each crunch of the apple more luxurious than the last. Ever since that moment, I have been a fanatic for food. Food has made me laugh in joy, cry in the sadness of not being able to experience the first bite of a particularly delicious meal again, and some foods have even made me go into deep philosophical thought about the nature of everything in existence. I don\'t think there is a better story in my life that truly defines me as a person. At my very core, I am a connoisseur for attention to detail, an avid explorer of how to make every experience enjoyable for every person around me, and generally I am a highly enthusiastic person who wants to make the world a better place, sometimes even at the expense of my own sanity (that may be a bit of an exaggeration). I thrive in roles where I can make things better, as can be seen through my employment as proofreader, social media manager, customer service, and marketing. Marketing, communication and sales may be the areas where I am able to do my best. I have been told many times by customers from all walks of life that I was able to entice them for something they wouldn\'t have even considered looking at. I sell what I believe in, because I am strong supporter of honesty, integrity and the general good of the people around me. Take the apple I mentioned for example. I have led many a mouth to be watered telling that story, making people yearn for a fruit they have all eaten, yet never experienced the way I described. That apple lay the trajectory of my life for me and made the person I am today. And that is not an exaggeration. And funnily enough, are apples my favorite fruit? Nope. I am currently obsessed with tiny clementines, and I love the fact that they\'re called cuties because there is truly no way of putting it better (and from a marketing perspective, that is GOLD).
