About Yusef Johnson
After 9 years supporting NASA\'s Launch Services Program, Yusef returns to the Johnson Space Center where he began his career. During this stint in his career, Yusef will be supporting the Exploration Integration Directorate, performing mission analysis and integration. At present, he is the lead integrator for the Artemis IV mission, whose objective is to deliver the I-HAB module to the Lunar Gateway, as well as perform a lunar surface sortie. In this role, Yusef directs and coordinate analyses across the Exploration enterprise to ensure the accomplishment of the missionYusef\'s career in spaceflight began as a reconfiguration engineer for United Space Alliance. During his career, He was recognized as the subject matter expert for contingency abort analysis and crew procedure development. Yusef also supported 26 Space Shuttle flights as a flight controller, serving in multiple console positions.Yusef was heavily involved with the Cockpit Avionics Upgrade project, providing cockpit display and algorithm development for the SAFM trajectory prediction tool, and performing software test and validation support. Yusef became a lead engineer in 2006, providing engineering leadership to the Abort Technical Integration Group.During his short stint working for the Navy, Yusef supported PMA-265 as an engineering project manager. In this role, he was responsible for coordinating Air Vehicle engineering changes for the F/A-18 Legacy Hornet. Projects that he supported included the Reduced Vertical Separation Management (RSVM) avionics updates for the F-18 A-D, and F-18 C++ wing section replacement.While working for a.i. solutions, the prime contractor for the Launch Services Program, Yusef performed trajectory analysis, which provides independent verification and validation of the work done by the various launch service providers. Yusef also supported trade studies that support the Launch Service Task Order process. He supported the TDRS-M, InSight, and GOES-S, and Lucy missions. Yusef was also responsible for writing the Orbital Debris Analysis Reports (ODARs) for CubeSats which fly as passengers on NASA missions.For the past 27 years, Yusef has spent his down time from work, working as a high school football coach. At the present, he is coaching the receivers and outside linebackers at Lutheran South Academy in Houston, TXSpecialties: Spaceflight real-time support, Systems engineering, engineering project management, trajectory optimization/performance analysis, crew procedure development, personnel development, orbital debris/re-entry risk assessment.

As the lead integrator for Artemis IV, Yusef works supports the Mission Analysis and Integrated Assessments (MAIA) Team by developing mission plans, groundrules and constraints, and performing mission analysis to further mankind\'s forays into deep space. Yusef integrates across the Exploration enterprise (Orion, Exploration Ground Sytems, Gateway, Space Launch System, and the Human Landing System) programs, in order to ensure the satisfaction of the Artemis IV mission objectives of delivering the I-Hab module to Gateway, as well as perform a lunar surface sortie.
