About Yuriy Bronshteyn

I am an intensivist (ICU doc) and anesthesiologist at Duke University with 10+ years of high-acuity ICU and perioperative practice and multiple national leadership roles in multi-organ ultrasound, perioperative care, and medical education at scale. I hold six active board certifications across three distinct specialties (critical care medicine, anesthesiology, and echocardiography), and have authored 60+ PubMed-indexed publications including major multi-specialty guideline papers. My work sits at the intersection of clinical medicine, imaging, and applied machine learning. I served as the immediate past Editor-in-Chief of the ASA Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Editorial Board and led the development of the ASA Diagnostic POCUS Certificate, now used by more than physicians worldwide. I lead and contribute to several AI/ML initiatives, including DARPA-funded ultrasound interpretation research, perioperative risk-prediction modeling, and imaging-based diagnostic projects.I regularly collaborate with engineers and data scientists on:• Multimodal ultrasound and TTE/TEE interpretation• Annotation schema design and dataset quality standards• Clinical reasoning evaluation and safety workflows• Curriculum design and scalable education frameworksI’m passionate about building clinically reliable, interpretable, multimodal medical AI systems and I welcome opportunities to collaborate with teams advancing medical model development, evaluation, or deployment.
