About Yurii Surzhykov
As an Embedded Software Engineer at Nice North America, I design and develop scalable software applications using Kotlin, a modern and versatile programming language. I leverage my expertise in Kotlin to create a Kotlin-based Hierarchical State Machine (HSM) library, an Event-Driven architecture, and a AsyncAPI YAML-to-Kotlin compiler, enhancing complex state management, communication across components, and API integration. I also use Kotlin Symbol Processing (KSP) to automatically store sticky events in a database, improving data persistence and system reliability. Additionally, I document system operations, project workflows, and library usage, ensuring clarity and consistency for internal and external stakeholders.I have a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science from Odessa National Polytechnic University, where I acquired a solid foundation in programming languages, databases, REST, HTTP, and code generation. I also have extensive experience in Android development, having worked as a Middle and Junior Android Developer at Geniusto, a fintech company. There, I implemented over 70 unique screens, fixed over 300 bugs, introduced unit testing and UI testing, and implemented a design system for multiflavor projects, using various Android frameworks, tools, and libraries. I am proficient in Java, Python, C++ and have knowledge of SOLID, OOP, SQLite, XML, JSON, Regular Expressions, Design Patterns, and Architectural Patterns. I am fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian. I am passionate about creating innovative and user-friendly software solutions, using the latest technologies and best practices. I am motivated by learning new skills, solving complex problems, and collaborating with diverse and talented teams.
