About Yura Isabel Hwang
Yura is the Founding Head of APAC Partnerships at Perplexity, leading the company’s first expansion into the region—starting with Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore. Formerly the Head of IR, APAC at Factorial Funds and previously at NEA, she was responsible for maintaining relationships with existing Limited Partners and introducing new investors to the firm on a global basis—including multinational corporate LPs and major pension funds across Asia. Earlier, as a Principal at Translink Capital, she co-invested in 15 startups—including unicorns—and oversaw a portfolio of 23 SaaS companies. Her work spanned sourcing, cross-border diligence, M&A, and LP reporting. She also has hands-on experience from startups in Edtech (U.S.), Fintech (Korea), and Healthtech (Europe). Yura is a Hoover Fellow at Stanford and has been recognized by the California State Assembly and Prudential for her community work in education and public health.
