Extractable & leachable (E&L) studies of the very first hydrogel product generated in-situ; Finished EB3 characterization and currently working on EB5.• Led the recruiting of one Sr. Scientist and one contractor in the MS group with supports from supervisors.• Drafted responses for “Survey of laboratories evaluating extractables from medical devices” from ISO TC 194/WG 14 for internal discussion.• Formulated internal definitions/rationales on “identification categories” based on USP which was adopted in every E&L report since November 2023.• Volunteered in company-organized charitable event-“Foster Care Build a Kit” as well as department Halloween Costume DIY.Some highlights and/or additional notes:o > 317 extractables/leachables were observed in the hydrogel product with majorities of them confidently identified.o Presented a case study to demonstrate that extractables/leachables could be “lost” with a “weaker” mobile phase B even UF = 10 was employed in Eastern Analytical Symposium (2023).o Conducted the volatile analysis of the hydrogel product by static headspace (SHS)-GC/MS after failed trial by dynamic headspace (DHS)-GC/MS due to presence of significant amount of water in the product.
