ABOUT YUNXIAO TONY LIU
I am a 4th year computer engineering student at the University of British Columbia, focused primarily on software engineering. I became inspired to follow this career path after joining and leading the robotics club at Henry Wise Wood High School several years ago, where I was involved in programming tele-operated and autonomous robots to participate in provincial skills competitions using C. Since then, I have developed a variety of projects ranging from discord bots to arduino-based devices to full-stack web applications, taken courses in areas such as software construction, data structures and algorithms, computer networking, machine learning, relational databases, and operating systems, and sought out several opportunities to enhance my software development skills in a professional setting.I have around two years of professional software development experience, gained through a variety of positions. These include- Full-stack developer co-op at Invoke Co- Software developer contract position at The Big Leaf - Management Consulting- AI chatbot developer contract position at BoardSpace- AI SWE co-op at NETINT Technologies Inc.My varied experiences have allowed me to gain programming skills in multiple languages such as JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. I have also utilized frameworks such as React, React Native, NextJS, and Flask. In addition, I have worked with both SQL and NoSQL databases, and have a solid understanding of a variety of AWS cloud services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and ElastiCache. Furthermore, I am familiar with popular machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, and have experience building tools utilizing the latest advancements in generative AI and LLM technologies.
