ABOUT YUHAN SUN
As a young professional pursuing a career in forensic mental health, I am dedicated to trauma-informed care and strength-based approaches for formerly incarcerated individuals who were once victims of abuse.I graduated from UW-Madison in the Spring of 2023, with three majors - Psychology, Biology, and Zoology - plus a certificate in Criminal Justice. Though I gave myself many choices and possibilities, I found my calling while working for Alternatives to The Traditional Incarceration of Citizens (ATTIC) as a case management intern and later as a group counselor, facilitating cognitive-behavioral-based curriculums. I am passionate about continuing this extremely rewarding journey of working with correctional clients in!My research interests lie in psychopathy, personality disorders, developmental psychopathology, and incarceration & mental health. I recognize the disproportion of mentally ill and abuse victims in prison, and I want to be part of making an effort to end this cycle of abuse.When my day is filled with heartbreaking stories, I unwind by translating the emotions and pain that words cannot describe into vibrant art through mediums such as Intaglio etching, watercolor, and painting.
