ABOUT YOGESH SINHA
I am an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the English Department at Ohio University, USA, with a career that spans continents, cultures, and intellectual traditions. My teaching and research are anchored in Rhetoric and Composition, with particular focus on Writing Transfer Studies, Wellness Rhetoric/Pedagogy, and Environmental Writing, bridging theory and practice in ways that engage both local and global contexts.Over more than three decades of teaching across Oman, Yemen, Ethiopia, India, and the United States, I have developed a comparative lens on writing, exploring how rhetorical strategies traverse linguistic, cultural, and disciplinary boundaries. My work interrogates how writers adapt, resist, and innovate across diverse contexts, emphasizing the interplay of cognition, identity, and pedagogy. I have also served as a certified IELTS examiner, mentored graduate students, and contributed extensively to curriculum development, program evaluation, and teaching methodologies.Driven by a commitment to research-informed writing instruction, I cultivate learning spaces where critical thinking, reflection, and rhetorical agility converge. I bring tact, diplomacy, and cultural sensitivity to every classroom and collaboration, equipping students to think and write across contexts. My scholarship aims to illuminate the mechanisms of writing transfer, enrich pedagogical wellness, and advance a globally minded understanding of rhetoric in action. I have published widely and presented at conferences across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and beyond, contributing to the ongoing conversation on the intersection of rhetoric, writing, and culture.
