ABOUT YOUSUF AHMED

My family moved to the U.S. when I was eight years old. We first settled in California, before moving twice more-first to Arizona and then to the Twin Cities that I still call home today. My parents are both from India, and like so many immigrant families before mine, they came here in search of a better life and reinforced the need to get a good education and do something meaningful, preferably by becoming a doctor but no pressure. Okay, maybe a little pressure. In the Eastern culture, there’s an emphasis on putting community first, and this still impacts me today as I tend to always think of my team first, and their development, career growth, as well as what’s best for the business more broadly speaking.I considered medical school and even worked as a pharmacy technician at University of Minnesota\'s hospital pharmacy, but ultimately it wasn\'t for me, and instead I settled on computer science, working in IT, and starting my own business before earning my MBA, moving into product/portfolio management, and ultimately, finding my way into healthcare. In a time of ever-increasing healthcare costs, I’m especially proud of having helped patients save an estimated $50+ million on their prescription costs, enhancing patient outcomes and medication adherence by creating price transparency. An internal subject matter expert in specialty medications, the pharmaceutical market, and price transparency, I love being part of the creative disruption of healthcare using technology to drive exponential revenue growth, penetrate new markets, and enhance patient access and outcomes.
