ABOUT YOUSSEF MAKAREM
I hold a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Balamand and currently serve as Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, with affiliation to the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. My work sits at the intersection of clinical cardiology, human genetics, and computational science, where I focus on leveraging large-scale data to uncover mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and translate them into clinically meaningful insights.My training spans rigorous clinical education and advanced research methodology, including specialized preparation through the SHARP program at the American University of Beirut. I have developed expertise in integrating multi-dimensional datasets, ranging from imaging-derived phenotypes to multi-omics, to address complex questions in cardiovascular medicine.Alongside my scientific training, I am pursuing an MBA to deepen my understanding of healthcare systems, strategy, and innovation. I am particularly interested in bridging medicine and management to drive scalable, data-driven solutions that enhance patient outcomes and reshape the future of healthcare delivery.I am committed to a career in academic medicine that combines clinical excellence, translational research, and strategic leadership, aiming not only to advance scientific discovery, but also to ensure its meaningful implementation in real-world care.I h
