ABOUT YOUSRA ABDELMONEIM
I am a Director at PwC, an ICAEW ACA chartered accountant and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and work on Capital Projects & Infrastructure with a focus on programme assurance. I spent three years externally auditing large banks and capital firms such as Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Mizuho, ICAP, and Macquarie as part of PwC\'s Banking and Capital Markets department which is where I completed my placement year, graduate training program, and qualified as an ACA chartered accountant. I then spent 3 years working in Internal Audit for local government, real estate and media sector. Afterwards, I started working on supporting Internal Audit functions in Capital Projects and Infrastructure sector with the delivery of their programme assurance. I\'ve worked on clients in the Middle East and in the UK. I studied BSc Economics at the University of Sussex and graduated with first-class honours and award for best economics dissertation which I published on DFID. I am currently a coach at LSE Programme for African Leadership and serve on the advisory board of the Business School at the University of Sussex.I\'m passionate about social mobility and supporting refugees and asylum seekers. Within PwC I work on encouraging staff to support refugees by volunteering their skills as part of programmes I help deliver in partnership with the Refugee Council UK. I am also a PwC social mobility lead for my business unit and ex lead of the One Young World PwC network where I used to co-lead a committee of 20 members,+350 network members and organise events across the firm to raise awareness of issues taking place around the world to encourage action and intrapreneurship.I\'m interested in risk, capital projects, economics consulting, policy advisory, international development, and microfinance. I\'m also open to public speaking and serving on board so get in touch.
