WORK HISTORY
Bioinformatics Phd Candidate @Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
Cleveland, OH, US
Thesis Advisor: William S. Bush, MS, PhDAs a part of the Alzheimer\'s disease Genetic Research Collaborative (ADGC), I worked with some of the largest international consortia studying the genetics of Alzheimer\'s disease (AD). During my PhD, I analyzed novel genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of AD, implemented newly developed machine-learning pipelines to implicate novel risk genes from GWAS data, as well as developed new software tools to perform these analyses at the pathway level. My research focused on the genetic regulation of monocytes, a critical innate immune cell, and its relationship to AD and AD-resilience, as well as other disorders like age-related macular degeneration. In this time I was able to work with all kinds of data sets from next-generation sequencing, genomic, gene expression, questionnaire, and EHR data. I was funded by a T32 training grant from the NIH for the training of translational data scientists working on AD. I have also published several original scientific papers and presented my research at conferences all over the world.
