ABOUT YOSEF RAZIN
Research Associate at the Institute for Defense Analyses with a deep passion for advancing human-machine collaboration and trust. Currently completing my PhD in Robotics at Georgia Tech, where I focus on developing mathematical models and metrics for interactional trust between humans and automation systems. My dissertation explores how humans and machines can work together more effectively through better understanding of trust dynamics. At IDA, I contribute to critical defense analysis and test science initiatives, applying my expertise in robotics, human factors, and statistical methodologies to support national security objectives. My graduate research has produced significant contributions to the field, including pioneering work on predicting human intent from gaze tracking and surface electromyography during robotic coordination. My interdisciplinary background spans mechanical engineering, aerospace propulsion, and human-robot interaction, with experience developing fusion-powered rocket propulsion systems and conducting human-in-the-loop experiments with over 220 participants. I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and human-centered design thinking to complex engineering challenges, always seeking innovative solutions that enhance both performance and trust in human-automation teams.
