Utilizing the Constructivist Theory in Education I incorporate in my classroom: teaching SCHOLARS how to think, create, & apply knowledge like scientists and engineers in training as I teach MN State Science Standards through a cultural lens utilizing data-driven best practices. Student-centered/driven, problem-based model teaching & learning involving & incorporating CLR (culturally responsive learning and teaching) & SEL (social, emotional learning) pedagogy throughout each lesson teaching our MN State Science Standards, while utilizing intentional & focused literacy and technology strategies with individual student laptops, & of course, minds-on, hands-on comprehensive overall focus in my classroom? Reaching & learning with the WHOLE child, differentiating instruction & support towards a successful academic career for EVERY Scholar, where THEY are at. I intentionally teach and incorporate the following : 1. Relevant, real, problem-based learning where students WANT to learn the STEM and 21st Century skills necessary to successfully complete the projects. Leadership/team building/cooperative learning techniques: builds self-esteem, a learning community, increases effort & self-efficacy. Intentionally build School Esteem: address discouragement, fear of failure, Actively PROMOTE a growth mindset in our children increases students\' academic achievement. Other Specialties: o MyMPS, our interactive learning platform,docentedu, quizizz, Kahoot, quizlet, BirdBrain (leveled science content reading) targets & promotes learning our science standards comprehensively & with greater engagement. o WebQuests. utilizing those I have created or those I find on the internet o Various science simulations: intentionally teach & exemplify science standards: PBS, Phet.etc.
