The primary role has been to ensure thermal and thermo-mechanical reliability as well as support power and performance goal of Intel products considering increasing heat dissipation from future Si. It is essential to work with cross-functional teams (designers, process engineers, validation engineers, lab engineers, etc.) to solve technical thermal reliability issues. Thermal issues in various scales have been of interest: 1) Transistor Joule heating; 2) Thermal impact to interconnect reliability; 3) Hot-spot induced system failure (Thermal runaway); and 4) Transient thermal impacts
