Key Responsibilities: • Line management of LV/HV Design Engineers and the allocation of tenders and projects to design engineers • Improve and implement processes/strategies to drive efficiency and delivery of projects within the department •inspire and create safe working environment for engineers to excel and grow within their field • Preparation and/or reviewing of compliant and high-quality electrical designs from budget mark-up through detailed design to successful delivery, for LV to 11kV ICP connections • Provide comprehensive training on fundamental electrical engineering techniques to support the continuous professional development of the core team • Provide full design support to the Bid Development team, to clients and other internal teams • Provide innovative solutions to enable grid connections in a timely manner • Ensure designs are compliant with legislation, industry and adopting utility specifications and all HSEQ requirements. • Ensure designs are technically and commercially compliant and delivered within agreed timescales • Carrying out and/or reviewing of cable capacity calculations, load flow studies, protection studies and earthing studies • Undertake the role of ‘Designer’ under the CDM regulations • Liaise with project managers and delivery teams ensuring open and thorough communication channels. • Obtain relevant IDNO and DNO approvals • Provide excellent service to our customers • Liaise and problem solve with other engineering disciplines • Be main point of contact for DNO/IDNO technical discussions
