Terrence Higgins Trust is the UK’s leading HIV and sexual health charity, at the forefront of fighting HIV, and policy analysis, lobbying and campaigning as the voice of HIV and sexual health. Meeting the needs of our service users, supporters and members will always be at the heart of what we do. Every day, we work for a world where people with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination, and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.As a trustee, my responsibilities include;• Ensuring Terrence Higgins Trust complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.• Ensuring Terrence Higgins Trust pursues its objects as defined in its governing document.• Maintaining proper financial control and ensure that Terrence Higgins Trust applies its resources exclusively in pursuing its objects.•Developing strategy, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.Some key achievements which have taken place during my time on the board are:• Campaigning for the HIV pill PrEP to be made available on the NHS• Delivering a new strategy with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion to ensure the charity is an anti-racist, anti-sexist organisation• Ministry of Defence change in policy in relation to adults serving in the armed forces• Working towards building a diverse board which represents its beneficiaries
