ABOUT YOK JYE TANG
As a graduate research associate and PhD candidate at Ohio State University, I am passionate about advancing the field of error correction codes (ECC) for next-generation memories and storage systems. I have published 10 papers in esteemed journals and conferences, demonstrating my extensive research expertise and innovative contributions to the ECC domain. Some of my notable achievements include introducing novel Reed-Solomon algorithms that improve the throughputs of modern failure recovery storage systems by 40%, devising and implementing innovative en/decoding algorithms and VLSI architectures for cutting-edge ECC, and engineering high-speed and low-complexity linear feedback shift registers (LFSR) architectures used in ECC encoding. In addition to my ECC expertise, I have acquired solid skills in finite field arithmetic, digital signal processing, VLSI design, C/C++, Python, and Verilog. I have also developed competence in machine learning techniques, such as linear regression, neural networks, and deep learning, and their relevant libraries, such as Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. Through my education and research experience, I have developed a strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and a curiosity-driven approach to solving complex problems. I aspire to become a leading researcher and engineer in the ECC field, and to create impactful solutions for the future of memory and storage technologies.
