About Yogitha Shastri
Hi, I’m Yogitha Shastri. I recently graduated with a Master’s in Medical Device Engineering from Keck Graduate Institute. With a background in biomedical engineering and a strong foundation in research, leadership, and technical communication, I’m passionate about using bioengineering to create impactful solutions in healthcare.During undergrad, I led as Co-Director of BearHack, where I rebranded and scaled the university’s annual hackathon, managing a team of 16, coordinating with sponsors, and building grant-backed budgets. I also served as PR Chair for the Society of Women Engineers, promoting events and outreach to increase engagement in STEM. Alongside my leadership roles, I contributed to microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip diagnostics research. In graduate school, I oversaw and managed a cross-functional team of people to create prototypes for an HIV testing device for a class. For my master’s project, I worked on an open-source 3D bioprinter project aimed at making bioprinting more accessible to everyone and resolving current issues with existing technologies. I also pursued research at KGI and worked on a proof-of-concept design for a Left-Ventricular Assist Device for those struggling with late-stage heart disease. Now, I’m looking for full-time opportunities where I can apply my engineering training, cross-functional collaboration skills, and drive for innovation to bring medical technologies from concept to reality. Open to R&D, product development, or systems engineering roles in the medical device and biotech space.
