The fossil fuel consumption, manufacturing and construction activities have heavily contributed to exacerbated CO2 levels and Immediate measures are required to tackle global warming and climate change. World must be proactive to curb global temperature rise within 2 oC, reduce global CO2 emissions to 1100 Gt by 2050 and become carbon neutral by 2070 as envisioned. The aforementioned target would not be attained easily without the large-scale, sustainable technology for CO2 sequestration. The oceanic sequestration technique has immense potential to store huge amount of CO2 beneath seafloor and new insights in this technology will help both academia and industry to achieve sustained growth.The aim of this project is to undertake a comparative techno-economical study of aforesaid processes and identify the role of nanoparticles and additives in absorption and hydrate based capture technologies and incubate a lab-scale prototype with potential large-scale sequestration into subsea basins of Indian ocean. The depth profiling of potential capture sites in Indian ocean region. However, synergism of nanoparticles and additives is envisioned to solve these aforesaid challenges that will be tested during this project.
