About Yocheved Sidof

Yocheved is a leader, activist, writer, mystic, and guide. She harnesses decades of social entrepreneurship, certifications, and lived experience —including her own wounds and healing— into her work and passions, intersecting spiritual leadership, community building and collective trauma healing. After a decade as filmmaker and photographer, in 2010, she challenged normative school models and founded a grassroots, progressive Chassidic school, Lamplighters Yeshivah, where she was CEO for a decade. Under her leadership, Lamplighters grew from a hopeful endeavor to a fast-growing, internationally recognized movement in education reform, proving a progressive, research-based model can flourish in a change-averse communities. As CEO, she developed strategic relationships with innovators, educators and philanthropists from across the Jewish and non-Jewish community, raising close to $5 million dollars with a focus on storytelling and crowd-funding. Yocheved is a sought-out writer, speaker and facilitator on the intersection of innovation and tradition, helping to shed light on issues related to equity, community reform, and women\'s roles. She was the Senior Advisor for Gender and Leadership at Leading Edge, leading the effort to understand female Orthodox Jewish leadership. She was selected as part of the inaugural cohort of the Wexner Field Fellowship in 2017, NEXUS, the Women In Faith Fellowship, recipient of the Perkins Award at Seth Godin’s altMBA, and one of the Jewish Week’s \"36 Under 36\" for her pioneering work in social entrepreneurship. A lifelong learner, Yocheved completed trainings on multiple coaching and leadership models including CTI, therapeutic coaching, adaptive leadership and systemic change. She received her teaching certificate in Jewish Meditation from the Elevation Project and incorporates those teachings into her facilitation, coaching and consulting work. Yocheved completed a two-year intensive training with Thomas Hubl, studying psycho-somatic-mystical models of healing personal, collective and ancestral trauma. She\'s currently enrolled in his advanced program, studying Collective Trauma Facilitation Training. Yocheved founded and leads Ohmek, a community of women and men pursuing deeper ways of being. She is the spiritual teacher, collective space holder, and ritual leader. She shares generously of her unique abilities to cultivate connection and bring harmony to paradox: innovation and tradition, teacher and student, the broken and the whole. Yocheved and her eclectic, dog-loving family live in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
