Driver dynamic trust in autonomous driving (NSF)· Aim to objectively measure, understand, and model driver dynamic trust and the underlying mental beliefs that lead to takeover decisions in risky driving conditions, using multimodal physiological (EEG, fNIRS, ECG), behavioral (eye gaze, takeover), driving performance metrics. · Iteratively designed naturalistic driving simulation protocols to manipulate driver trust dynamics and elicit proactive/voluntary takeovers through traffic scenarios without explicit takeover requests (TOR).· Utilized neuroimaging (fNIRS) to capture human cognitive states through activation patterns and connectivity analyses (functional, effective, and graph-theoretical) across key brain regions.· Studied how demographics (sex, age, education), fundamental human states (fatigue, workload), mental constructs (situation awareness, risk perception), and interpersonal trust propensity interact with different driver takeover behavior. Trust and Cyberattack Predict in Shared-Space Human-Robot Collaboration (NSF) • Conducted human-in-the-loop research to detect cyberattack using operator behavioral, physiological, and cognitive response • Developed in-house eye-tracking analysis protocol using OpenCV image recognition to capture highly dynamic visual stimuli • Explored eye-tracking gaze behavioral metrics as objective measures for trust in human robot interactionsGraduate Research and Teaching Assistant· Mentored 6 students in data collection, interpretation and analysis of heartrate and eye tracking data. Students presented posters at symposiums and conferences. · Taught 55-student labs on physiological data collection and analysis of physical & mental workload, usability testing, fatigue· Assisted 11 student teams develop and conduct human subject studies on emerging human factors burdens and needs
