ABOUT CATHERINE YINGDAN
Dr. Yingdan (Catherine) Cai is a Senior Lecturer in Strategy and International Management at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) in the UK. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Certified Business and Management Educator (CMBE). Catherine has published in Asia Pacific Journal of Management (ABS 3), (ABS 3), Critical Perspectives on International Business (2) and various book chapters. She presented at various academic conferences and doctoral consortia. She has been selected from thousands of applicants to take part in the prestigious 4th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in Economics.Catherine has also received various awards for her research. The paper \"Does government stake influence cross-border deal completion? Evidence from Brazil\" authored by Yingdan Cai, Kees van Veen & Sathyajit Gubbi has been one of the four finalists for CGIO Best Paper in International Corporate Governance in International Management Division in the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2014 and an abridged version of the paper is included in the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings (Only 21 out of 204 accepted papers in the IM division, or 10% are accepted for the proceeding). In addition, her dissertation proposal has won the Best COST Think Thank Proposal Award in the 1st COST–EIBA / EIASM Doctoral Think Tank on Emerging Markets and Their Corporate Players at EIBA 2010. Her teaching and research interests are corporate governance and international business strategies, with a focus on emerging markets. She is an ad hoc reviewer for the Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Journal of Knowledge Management, International Journal of Emerging Markets, and International Journal of Technology Management.
