ABOUT YINGCHEN GUO
I am currently pursuing my Master of Financial Risk Management (MFRM) at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Prior to joining Rotman, with a background in Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics through my undergrad experiences, I bring actuarial precision, financial insight, and analytical thinking, using quantitative modeling to tackle real problems in risk management. I bring nearly two years of experience in the P&C insurance and Asset Management sectors, where I strengthened my technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Passionate about capital markets and risk management, prompted me to deepen my knowledge in risk. My goal upon graduation is to pursue a career in market risk or credit risk, leveraging tools such as Python, Excel, and Power BI to transform complex data into actionable insights.Key Accomplishments:Passed CFA Level I exam with total preparation time of 1.5 monthsScored 100% on the project of building a S & P500 mutual fund performance model using Excel and Python in Financial Modeling class at McMaster, where automated data retrieval from Yahoo Finance, calculated portfolio returns and risk metrics, and visualized fund performancePassed 3 SOA exams all in first attemptI would love to connect and expand my network.
